The Updated Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
This Online Asbestos Awareness Training Course complies fully with the recently updated Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, which came into force on the 6th April 2012. The Learning Material within the course has being updated in line with the new legislation from the HSE, (The Health and Safety Executive).
Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
The Control of Asbestos Regulations originally came into force on the 13th November 2006, and have subsequently being updated on the 6th April 2012. The regulations require mandatory training for anyone who is liable to be exposed to Asbestos Fibres at work. Regulation 10 states that every employer shall ensure that adequate instruction and training is given to those employees who are liable to be exposed to Asbestos, or who supervise such employees, so that they are aware of:-
The properties of asbestos and its effects on health, including its interaction with smoking
The types of products or materials likely to contain asbestos
The operations which could result in asbestos exposure and the importance of preventive controls to minimise exposure
Safe work practices, control measures, and protective equipment
Emergency procedures
Hygiene requirements
Asbestos Awareness Training is specifically for those individuals who may disturb Asbestos in their everyday work, or those who work in a building where Asbestos could be present. These include:-

Our Asbestos Awareness Training Course has being Approved and Accredited. This means that a Full UK Awarding Body has looked at the learning material involved in our course and confirmed that this meets the requirements set out in Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 with regard to Asbestos Awareness Training.
The Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) advises that refresher Training should be given at least every year and be appropriate to the role undertaken.

Asbestos Awareness Certification will provide other companies that you may do work for the proof that staff training has taken place.
The duration of the Asbestos Awareness Training Course is approximately 1 and-a-half-hours, this is including the assessment.
